The Home Channel Feature: Statement Pieces & Harmony... All Uniquely You

Thanks to everyone who tuned into the Home Channel earlier this month to watch the show on the Tassels & Tigers lair – also known as my own lounge.   For those of you who weren’t able to catch it, I decided to do a summary of the main touchpoints.  We spoke about statement pieces, where to find them, and how to make use of layout and colour to create a unique look with the things you already have.

Shopping Morning: Sunny African Dining Room

This shopping morning was an extension of an earlier full decor project we did, the African-Colonial Lounge.  The adjoining dining room, freshly painted by us, needed a little rounding off though. We already had the theme, so all she needed now was a little shopping assistance from us.  This bright and sunny dining room with an African touch is an example of a Tassels & Tigers Shopping Morning service.

Soft Furnishings: Wafty, Linen Look Curtains in Neutrals

She wanted to create a bit of privacy in the living room and bedroom, as well as protect her wooden floors and furniture from the harsh sun. Thick and heavy, block-out curtains would have undermined the home’s open, airy feel however, so she was looking for a sheer, natural linen look.

We were careful to find curtaining that had the natural, wafty look of linen, but would be able to stand up slightly better against the sun, so we suggested two fabrics from Stuart Graham Fabrics’ Atmosphere collection: Question: Silvery, for the bedroom and Cloud: Linen, for the living room.
