Decor DIY: Beaded Potted Plants Withstand The Drought
We've had so many compliments on the beaded plant and pot that was part of the Proudly South African project we wrapped up 2 weeks ago. So we decided to do a little DIY post for those of you who would like to create something similar.
We sourced the cladded concrete planters and had the beaded aloes custom made, but when the pieces arrived, we had to devise way to make it look as beautiful as it did when the client envisioned it.
We had them custom made, according to the pots' dimensions, so they would stand tall and spread their beautiful leaves over the sides. But when we simply rested the plants on the pots' sides they looked cropped and lob sided. Simply filling the space with newspaper also wouldn't do, as the plant would be unsteady and it would eventually sag.
Here's what we came up with i
This little feature would not have been near as beautiful and striking, had the Aloes not been so expertly made. They display far greater artistic talent than many of the beaded items one would find next to the road.
Let us know if you would like any beautiful beaded art made while still supporting the community!
