Soft Furnishings: Two Boys Go Sailboat Dreamin'
Our client had some leftover fabric from a Roman blind she had made up for her twin boys' nautical themed room. She wanted us to use it to make two cushions for the boys' new, big-boy beds. This suited us to a tittle, as we love working with a theme!
A snapshot of the en-suite bathroom where the fabric was used for a Roman blind.
The beds aren't the only big-boy elements in the bedroom, however, as she had successfully integrated the playful nautical theme with a tasteful and decidedly non-baby overall feel.
The fabric is exquisite and the boys' room is beautifully adorned with white-and-blue striped linen curtains, a nautical themed painting and a plush carpet in shades of blue, representing the ocean.
We had a look at a couple of ideas...
...and suggested appliqueing the boys' names onto the scatters in rope, further developing the theme and making statement pieces out of leftover fabric. So we went to work with needle, rope and carbon paper.
The real clients, Max and Ty, loved their cushions by the way.
